Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Skypark

Some photos I took back in April but was too lazy to upload...

The room:

View of the Gardens by the Bay from the balcony. I think it was still under construction at that time.

Loved the room! Very spacious, nice, big bathroom and amazing views.

My cousin at the kiddie pool.

One major gripe I had was how crowded the pool was! It doesn't look like it in the shot above but it was actually really crowded, like a community center swimming pool. But I suppose it can't be helped given how many guests they have at any one time.

The Skypark:

At night:

The infinity pools at night. This was after they just re-opened the pools. They had to close it earlier due to the rain. But yeah, I think the pools are much less crowded in the evenings.

2D1N @ Hard Rock Hotel in Resort World Sentosa

Some pictures from my day @ Resort World Sentosa, it was so much fun!

Beginning of the day, breakfast at Mos Burger! Great waffles, reminds me of the ones they served in A&W.
Checking into Hard Rock Hotel. We got a room on the 6th floor.

The room was pretty spacious.

Cool toiletries stand.
In Universal Studios. This is the only picture I have on my camera :P

If you're going to Universal Studios, try not to bring a bag or have any loose items like sunglasses etc on you if possible. Otherwise, you have to store your items in a locker every time you want to get on the main rides, Battlestar Galatica and Revenge Of The Mummy. The locker is free for use for 30 minutes but after that, you have to pay.

Lunch @ Chilis.

2 Step Texas Lunch Combo. Salad/Soup + Entree

Caesar Salad + Ranch Chicken Sandwich
Caesar Salad + Big Mouth Burger Bites
Potato Soup + Prawn Salad

Universal Studios closed at 7pm and there were no fireworks so we went to have dinner at Vivo City and strolled around after that.

Hard Rock Hotel

Joël Robuchon's restaurant was still under construction. Can't wait for it to be opened!

To end the day, we went to have drinks at Hard Rock Cafe.

Pina Colada.
Cosmopolitan.

The bartender makes an excellent mojito!

Zacky V's guitar and shoes.

Yes, I shamelessly fangirled over these.

The next day we enjoyed some Garrett Popcorn in the comfort of the room while watching TV. They have mio Stadium, ESPN and ESPN news. Barça won their match against Valencia, 1-0, hurray!

One bad thing about the hotel was the lack of free wireless internet. I thought free internet is pretty standard in hotels nowadays.

Garrett Popcorn

At 12pm, a member of the staff had to come up and see if we were moving our asses out of the room, I guess they were fully booked.

Overall I think it was money well spent. Having a hotel room meant we could take a short nap in the afternoon before going back to play in USS and we could walk around in Resort World till late since we could just crash in the room later. And the hotel had nice, big pools. Though my crazy ass went on the slide which is actually only meant for kids and nearly died (there should be a sign!!11). Anyways this was a really nice, short getaway :D

Tampopo Deli

Needed some comfort food after Barca lost to Hercules in Camp Nou (while Real Madrid won their match ugh), so went to Tampopo Deli on a Sunday (around 6pm) to try out the much raved about cream puff but it was sold out FML.

But all was not lost and we tried out the signature Fruit Scoop Short Cake instead...

...and the Matcha Chiffon Cake...

...and a Petit Banana Tart ($2)...
...and a Petit Mont Blanc ($2).
The light, fluffy cakes were a delight, but I thought it was a little overpriced at $5.80. I mean, that's about the price of a really nice and rich New York Cheesecake!

I really loved the caramelized bananas on the Banana Tart, wish I had ordered the big one instead...

Also, Meidi-ya supermarket had some really good pork for shabu shabu, air flown from Japan.

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar @ Esplanade

It was hot as hale today so we went to Max Brenner to try out the waffle!

chocolatey goodness *drool*

another picture cos it's just that good...
Cost about $17 after GST but pretty worth it as they are generous with the toppings and the waffle is the best I've had in a while. And it's really rich with chocolate so it's just right for 2 people to share. I don't think I could finish it all by myself.

Can't wait to go back and try the churros fondue!

Marmalade Pantry @ ION

Yet another day as a tai tai wannabe... this time at ION's Marmalade Pantry!

I wanted to try Nutella but it was sold out! Had the Elvis (chocolate banana cake with peanut butter frosting) recommended by the staff instead.
My mum's Geisha (buttermilk and pandan cupcake with green tea and coconut filling).
sugar for the tea, love the presentation.

the rest of the set
The set was pretty filling, we had a hard time finishing the entire thing despite not having anything for lunch prior to this.

The cupcakes weren't as wonderful as everyone seems to make them out to be. The cake wasn't moist enough. It was also a little stiff, probably from sitting out there for a long time. The frosting for the cupcakes were really good tho, just the right sweetness.

The rest of the set was quite average, nothing much to rave about, but I did enjoy the egg and cress sandwich! Will probably try and recreate it at home heh heh.

Overall, I think TWG's Celebration Tea Set ($29) just one level down is much more worth it. I mean, they have foie gras and salmon sandwiches! But Marmalade Pantry is better for having a chat over tea as they have much more space and you don't really have to worry about the people waiting for tables giving you the evil eye. It was also a nice place to people watch. I saw a girl with a Hermes Birkin in the most beautiful shade of green *drool*

Walking around Orchard later, trying to digest the food we had just eaten, we spotted a huge crowd outside Tod's at Ngee Ann City. Everyone had their cameras pointed at someone.  Being a typical Singaporean, I went over to see what the fuss was all about.

It was Louis Koo! This is a great pic, I'm so proud of it lol.

Bought something to use at the gym...

FC Barcelona's Training Top! SGD$65
I was just thinking of ordering from the website! & I'm glad I didn't... how come it retails for EUR45 on the official website?! It's more expensive and then you have to add $$$ for shipping! It's usually the other way round. And I'm pretty sure the one I bought isn't a fake, got from at Wisma's Nike store. Maybe cos it's made in Thailand? idk idk.

Also, I find it pretty amusing that Cesc is following a fake Casillas account on Twitter, he's such a ditz! The trilingual tweeting is adorable tho.
