Just read this blind item on ONTD and thought it was pretty interesting:
There’s no denying that this actor is very talented. However, in this town, talent will only take you so far. There’s a good reason that our actor’s been getting a lot more face time and screen time and attention this season than the rest of his castmates. It’s because our actor hit the old casting couch with the show’s producer. Even though the overt favoritism is causing dissension among the ranks, the producer just can’t stop giving his honey more screen time and parading him around at various industry events like a prized poodle. Most people outside the show haven’t made the personal connection between the actor and the producer yet. Perhaps it’s because there is such a significant age difference between the two. Or, perhaps it’s because the actor has explicitly stated in interviews that he is straight. Or, perhaps it’s because the producer is supposed to be getting married.
I'm pretty sure this one is referring to Darren Criss and Ryan Murphy but whether or not it's TRUFAX is another story.
It would explain all the screen time and solos he's getting on the show despite only joining in the second season. Glee has basically become the Klaine + Finchel show. For all the time they must spend filming together, he doesn't seem to really hang out a lot with the rest of the cast. Plus it's not that much of a stretch of the imagination to see him being hungry enough for fame to sleep with Ryan Murphy (although that's just kinda sad). And then of course there is this:

The reason Darren is getting so much screen time is because he is extremely popular and well loved. the reason Klaine gets screen time is because GLEE is trying to make a difference and extend equality into the world.
If you hadn't noticed, they actually are trying to give others more songs as well. But Darren is in high demand. That was made obvious through fan reactions.
It's called good marketing.
He doesn't strive for fame. He isn't some power crazed weirdo. He just likes to perform and make people happy through his work. He likes to make a difference.
To even think what you're implying is a shame. He is such a great person.
Thanks for your comment. I'm not really in the Glee fandom, I just watch the show. What I wrote was just based on the comments on ONTD and what I've seen on the show. To me, Kurt and Blaine don't have a lot of chemistry on screen and so it wasn't hard for me to believe the commenter who said that Chris hadn't warmed up to Darren and that it may possibly be due to this rumor.
ReplyDeleteI actually like Darren and the character Blaine but it still makes me LOL to think that this might be true. I'm sure Darren isn't crying into his hair gel just cos some random blind item implied that he was sleeping with RM for screen time. Besides, you know what they say, you haven't made it in Hollywood until there's a gay rumor about you.
