Last Day in Seoul - Bulgogi Brothers, Tom N Toms, Baskin Robbins

welp it's been about 2 months since I've returned from Seoul and I'm only now uploading the last of my pictures oop @ me.

Well anyway, since our flight was leaving seven in the evening, we had some time to kill before that so we just walked around Myeongdong for the last time :'(

Cute car all bundled up against the cold weather.

Apparently all tourists order this when they visit.
The staff grilled the meat at the table for us.

We had lunch at Bulgogi Brothers and it was the best meal we had for this trip! At first I was worried that we had over-ordered and there was too much meat but once the staff had cooked the beef to perfection and cut it up for us to eat... just wow. The taste, aroma and chewiness of the beef, it was just fantastic. One of the best beef I've ever had.

Dessert at Baskin Robbins. Some new flavor for the holiday that I forget the name of.

Last meal before flying off. Some tea at Tom N Toms!

Honey thick toast. The whipped cream was actually really light and fluffy, love it!
Sweet potato latte, again! Did I mention that I love this?

Day 7 - Gamoo Cafe & Nami Island

Breakfast at Gamoo Cafe in Myeongdong.

Vienna coffee
Caramel Mocha
Free cakes to go with the drinks we ordered!

Got a bit distracted by the shops on the way to Nami Island so it was a little late by the time we reached. It took about 2 hours to travel iirc. Still, there was quite a number of people there including a tour group from Hong Kong.

UNICEF train
Dakgalbi. When it arrived I thought it was going to be super spicy and it just looked so unappetizing to me. But after trying it I was pleasantly surprised, it was really good!

Descending into darkness...

AHHHHHHHHH a scene out of the Blair Witch Project

Seoul Day 6

Went to a restaurant in Myeongdong that was recommended to me by a friend for lunch.

Dessert at Chocolateria San Churro.

Rest time at Deux Cremes in Garosugil.

The green tea tiramisu was sold out so we had this fruit tart instead. It was all right but nothing compared to Japanese fruit tarts.
Yummy sweet potato latte. Tom N Toms one was nicer imo.

Then at night we had dinner at the food court in COEX Mall.

We got the last plate of kimchi fried rice! I think this cost about W7000.

LOL looking at this entry it looks like we did nothing but eat for the day.

Day 5 - Yeongyang Centre & Cheonggyecheon Stream

First up, lunch at Yeongyang Centre, apparently the oldest restaurant in Myeongdong and known for its roasted chicken. As luck would have it, a busload of tourists dropped into the restaurant just as we were about to enter. Fortunately, the place was quite big so we didn't really have to wait for long.

The chicken's skin was really nice and crispy!
The soup had nothing on Tosokchon imo! But the chicken tasted better since they use younger chickens here.
Some chai tea latte at Doota. We sat outdoors cos we were too lazy to remove our coats lol.
Doota at night.
Dinner was a giant piece of pork chop from some shop in Myeongdong. I think it was called Namsan #1 pork chop or something.
Night stroll.
There were a line of horses pulling carriages at the side of the road. Twas cute but they looked like they were freezing their butts off, poor things :(
Sweet potato latte from Tom N Toms, loved it! Btw, where did all the Tom N Toms cafes in SG go?!
Cheonggyecheon stream, which was actually within walking distance of our hotel but somehow took us forever to find lol.

Some icicles on a tree, only this particular tree had icicles on it, strange...

Day 4 - Apgujeong (Butterfinger Pancakes, Meal Top & Caffe Bene)

Day 4, aka the day I saw snow for the first time. There were only tiny snowflakes, barely bigger than specks of dust, but IT WAS GLORIOUS! Too bad it was too tiny to even capture on camera.

Anyways, since breakfast wasn't included in our hotel stay this time, we decided to go to Butterfinger Pancakes for some American breakfast!

It was a weekday morning but the place was packed! Luckily a group of people left a little while after we got in so we managed to get seats.

The most delicious milkshake ever! I forget the name, but I think it was supposed to be a mix of their all-time favorites.
Giant breakfast platter. Perfect for people who can't decide on what to get, it has both sweet and savory portions.
Banana pancakes.
Wow, I'm kinda impressed that the iPhone managed to take such a decent macro shot of the gooey inside of the pancake!

10,000 calories later, we shopped around Apgujeong, it was definitely different from the streets of Myeongdong and Dongdaemun. Here we saw a lot of people toting designer handbags. Hermes, Balenciaga, Givenchy, LV, it was like being back in Singapore lol. Anyway the designer stuff here is a lot more expensive than even Singapore. A Balenciaga mini pompon which sells for about S$1600 in Singapore costs about S$2200 here.

Cute dogs in a pet shop!

On the way back to the subway station, we shared a hot red bean soup at Meal Top at Hyundai Department Store.

It was good but I think it cost like S$10!! Pretty expensive for some red beans...
