Ladies' Night @ Ma Maison

Every Monday (from 5pm onwards) is Ladies' Night at Ma Maison, all ladies get 20% discount on all à la carte items! I don't know how it would work if a couple were dining together though... would only the lady's order get the discount? idk idk.

That hamburger steak looks delicious, but we already had our minds set on what to order.
Interior of restaurant. I love the setting.
Appetizer: Escargots with garlic butter. This was ok, not amazing, but not bad either.
Seafood paella! Rice was moist and very flavorful and there was a load of fresh seafood! Big enough to be shared by 2, pretty worth the price imo.
Reason why we shared the main course, the delicious tarts! This is the mont blanc tart, highly recommended!

White chocolate strawberry tart. This was good but mont blanc was better.

Extra pic, didn't want to put in a new post...

Best Fries Forever
Beef chili fries from Best Fries Forever. Better than Carls Jr imo.

$11.99 Set Lunch @ Modesto's

Soup of the day + Pizza/Pasta + Drink for $11.99 nett!

Mushroom Soup. Just the right thickness and very flavorful.
Some garlic bread. Cost me an extra $6! wtf. But it was pretty good. Toasted to a slight crisp.
Traditional wood fired magherita pizza!
Penne Cabonara. Good but nothing to rave about really.

For $11.99 nett, I think it's pretty worth it.

Mad For Garlic

It's Polling Day and I have nothing to do! Dumb GRC system. But decided to make use of the public holiday to bring my parents to Mad For Garlic in Suntec City. Its a chain restaurant from Korea and serves Italian cuisine with a Korean twist featuring, you guessed it, garlic!

Interior of restaurant.
Dracula Killer. Garlic cooked in olive oil and anchovies.
Garlic Snowing Pizza. Garlic pizza with shrimp and pineapple. The server added the 'snow' (shredded cheese) for us at the table.
Garlicholic Rice. Garlic fried rice with shrimp and asparagus.
A delicious serviette. Lulz I had nothing better to do while waiting for the food.

I'm not a big fan of garlic (only came here cos my dad is a garlicholic) but I loved the food here. Especially the Garlic Snowing Pizza, it definitely lived up to its hype. Dracula Killer was all right, I liked dipping the bread into the olive oil. Garlicholic Rice was quite spicy, even for my dad who loves spicy food. Good thing we didn't order the Suicide Rice then haha.

Second visit.

Morton's USDA Prime Burger

Had an early Mother's Day celebration at Morton's Bar, brought my mum to try the ~legendary~ $30 burger.

Being a el cheapo, I waited till after 8pm to go there since the burger is $5 cheaper then.
Some wasabi mayo thing and ketchup. As you can see, I was too lazy to move the thing over to take a pic lol.

After a 20 minute wait, I spotted the waitress carrying the burger over from the main restaurant!

Burger with Swiss cheese and bacon.
Burger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms for my mum.
And a glass of red wine since we were celebrating Mother's Day.

The beef patty was cooked to perfection, but the bun and fries were pretty average. Anyway, I think the giant, juicy beef patty makes up for the hefty price tag. It really is huuuuge. Frankly, I think we could have just ordered one and shared it between us.

Extra:

Starbucks' Soy Strawberries & Cream Frappucino! A sweet treat minus the guilt (just the guilt of spending $8 on a drink).
